FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
• DO GHOSTS EXIST?
This question has been asked for thousands of years. People have claimed to have seen ghosts as well as other paranormal phenomena. Researchers are continuously working hard in all methods searching for answer to this question. This question is usually answered by the “belief” of the individual person. Unfortunately for now scientifically we cannot answer “yes” or “no”.
• CAN WE COMMUNICATE WITH GHOSTS?
Many investigators use different methods to attempt to communicate with what some believe are unseen entities, however true communication has never been documented. One popular example of alleged communication is EVP (electric voice phenomenon), investigators use an audio recorder to attempt to catch a disembodied voice. People also claim that "ghosts" communicate to them in a different way, in a dream, writing on paper, appearing to them or in some form of a psychic connection. Again there is no “yes” or “no” and we are constantly researching to find an answer.
• CAN A GHOST HURT ME?
Some people believe in demonic infestations and claim such situations can harm you depending upon the severity of the case. We at N.E.C.A.P.S. realize that "demons" are religious in nature and mainly a folkloric classification. There has been no proof to date supporting the claim of human or inhuman entities and therefore no proof that paranormal activity can impose any particular harm.
• CAN THERE BE A LOGICAL EXPLANATION FOR GHOSTS?
Yes, some of phenomena people experience could possibly be caused by temperature changes (creaks, moans, floorboards), house settling (creaks, groans, snaps, loud thuds) animals in your attic or walls (footsteps, running, whispering, shadows), high EMF (electric magnetic field) (dizziness, fear, feeling of being watched, sick to stomach) or even some nearby construction (vibration, loud noise, crashing). To understand the particular nature of a problem requires an onsite investigation/evaluation.
• WHAT IS A OUIJA BOARD?
A Ouija board believed by some to be named from French "oui" and German ja “yes” also known as a spirit board or talking board, is a flat board marked with letters, numbers, and other symbols, allegedly used to communicate with spirits. Considered a form of dowsing, It uses a planchette (small heart shaped piece of wood) or movable indicator to interpret the spirit's message by spelling it out on the board during a seance. The fingers of the participants are placed on the planchette, which then moves around the board to spell out messages.
